New Moon in Pisces 2025 Forecast
Dear friends and neighbors,
I feel this New Moon in Pisces post needs to come with a personal disclaimer of sorts.
It is challenging to stay positive and proactive while being grounded in reality during the times we're all living in.
Sleepless nights, doom scrolling, and worrying for the future of our children are the plain and simple side-effects of being alive in this moment of history.
And it is at times like this that I need to remind myself that this small Astrology Blog is not meant to be simply an exercise of my personal freedom of speech, but also a guiding light of sorts through treacherous and rapidly changing terrain. With this brief preamble in mind, let's dive into the basic symbolism of this week's main event.
The New Moon in Pisces happening on Thursday, February 27th at 19:44 local time is but a blip on the radar as we're collectively trying to keep track of larger shifting currents.
This New Moon sits right in between ambitious and resolute Mars stationing direct in the sign of Cancer and harmony-seeking Venus stationing Retrograde in the sign of Aries on March 1st, 2025. On one hand, our inner drive finds new purpose and renewed persistence to fight back, on the other, all that we hold dear and valuable is getting ready for a revision and re-assessment. New Moons are usually a time of the month when one can naturally feel invigorated, a fleeting moment in which our subconscious reflections and our conscious self-expression effortlessly find themselves on the same page, readying themselves to tackle the bigger picture -unobstructed by the luminous presence of the Moon in the night's sky.
This year's New Moon in Pisces, ruled by Jupiter in Gemini, could bring an unexpected surge of energy into our lives, not only through the over-abundance of media buzzing for our attention and keeping us up at night but also because the Sun and Moon in Pisces are in a square aspect to Jupiter in Gemini.
This is a symbol that we're not just collectively aware of the power dynamics trying to flood our attention span with more information than our poor human brains could ever take in, but we're also in open conflict with these forces and coming to terms with our personal power to protect our soul, our self-compassion, and emotional receptivity from the attention-seeking headlines that are flooding our visual field.
Remember the saying "the eyes are the windows of the soul"?
What are we allowing to come through those windows?
As we find more energy in our lives, the risk lies in channeling it inappropriately and dispersively, that's why it is important to find some form of inner discipline to stay on the right path,
and ensure that the actions we take have a larger purpose and are geared toward constructive outcomes.
Destructive and chaotic initiatives aren't likely to bear any fruits of their own under this influence.
Aim the tension between this New Moon and Jupiter toward clarifying your emotional landscape and streamlining your agenda for the next couple of weeks.
Have an escape plan handy to take care of the possible surge of frantic forces in your life. One may decide to go for a run, bring out the yoga mat, sit down in Vippasana, or unleash one's subconscious on the keyboard through a "daily pages" practice.
Keep in mind that, from an outsider's point of view, how one chooses to respond to this confrontational energy may be judged as arrogant and self-righteous -beware of how much bandwidth you're giving to unsolicited criticism. On the other hand, if one has a larger project in their hands, chances are that this New Moon in Pisces will provide the boost needed to make visible progress despite the perceived surrounding chaos.
Until March 3rd, rational Mercury will find itself under the direct influence of restricting Saturn and manipulative Neptune.
As the planet of reason and communication peels away from the constricting negative thinking inspired by Saturn, one's mind might become more vulnerable to the allure of negative forms of escapism, as a way to rebound and soften the blows of the current state of reality. This can be a tough time to navigate for those folks who struggle with addictions of all kinds. From personal experience, I would suggest raising awareness toward the quality and quantity of screen time one is exposed to: as the vast majority of our information travels through the web, it is vital to understand how easily one's feed can be tweaked by modern-day algorithms, therefore making it an easy tool to manipulate cognitive abilities on a larger scale.
From a mythological point of view, Mercury and Neptune find agreement and collaboration through poetry, non-fiction, sci-fi storytelling, essays of a spiritual or religious nature, as well as music and movies inspired by deep love and romance. Magically-inclined Neptune inspires the dreamy themes and communicative Mercury finds words for them. In the weeks following this New Moon in Pisces, finding refuge in works of such nature will help greatly in managing that desire for diversion which could lead to self-sabotaging behavior if left unchecked.
Lastly, Mars' direct station at 17 Cancer (which happened last weekend) will be positively supported by Saturn in Pisces through April 17th, 2025.
This longer dynamic between persistent Mars and reliable Saturn takes place among the water signs Pisces and Cancer. This influence is fertile ground for putting into practice as much emotional maturity as one can muster and fiercely pursuing the protection of one's own familial bonds, core values, and overall activities that bring emotional and spiritual nourishment.
During this period of time one will be called to fall in love with the daily practice of exercising one's core skills, and the patient and determined chase of one's aspirations when it comes to creating and protecting one's family, and one's own emotional security; defending the ability to provide shelter, food, and steadiness of community and spiritual bonds. As long as this tenacious dynamic is at play, one might come to realize that respecting tried and true methods of creating and maintaining soulful connections, paired with the persistence of focused action are the main ingredients needed to bring about the safeguard of those values that felt so vulnerable and exposed in the weeks preceding the New Moon happening this Thursday.
Accepting the hard work, slow progress, little-to-no praise, and inevitable adjustments of this purposeful planetary interaction in one's natal chart will be instrumental in refining and pin-pointing the current factors that are essential for the upkeep of the basic unit of our community -the family, however large or small one wishes it to be.
On an individual level, practicing, modeling, and repeatedly showing up for emotional maturity and stability could be easier said than done. However, over time the shift of attitude of the single person is bound to ripple through the group and create opportunity for positive change.
Thank you for reading this far. As I briefly mentioned at the beginning, this post was particularly difficult for me to put together. I too fell for those pesky Mercury interactions which deeply disturbed my sleep cycles and and messed with my reasoning. I hope that reframing the dynamics at play on Thursday's New Moon within a larger context helped my readers as much as it aided this wee little writer.
